Six meters of cake as Rathwood prepares for Mother’s Day
Six meters of cakes on display, including over 24 types of cakes and pastries, are the latest attraction at Rathwood’s restaurant just outside Tullow. The popular shopping and activity destination centre is getting ready for Mother’s Day, 18th March, one of the busiest days of the year.
The newly refurbished restaurant at Rathwood will be unveiled just in time for the special date, with increased capacity and, more importantly, an even bigger selection of the restaurant’s famous sweet treats.
New flavours and combinations are being added to Rathwood’s all-time favourites, such as the double layered Pavlova and Chocolate Mud Cake.
Rathwood’s cake menu includes a range of gluten-free cakes and most cakes can also be made to order using gluten-free ingredients, if requested in advance.
Margaret Egan, pastry chef at Rathwood and mother of three, will be taking the day off to enjoy with her family but has been busy preparing the new cake menu.
“I will be spending Sunday having lunch with my three children and one grandchild, she says. “Having my family around is very special and I treasure the time with them.”
