Dave Mottershead and Daniela Gross, a Galway-based couple, has been the first of the Top 10 couples shortlisted for the Ultimate Job in Ireland – and probably the world, thanks to public voting.
Dave, a cameraman originally from South Africa, and Daniela, a journalist from Brazil, managed to lead the voting board with 4721votes thanks to the votes of friends and family spread across three different continents, but also thanks to the big PR campaign they pursued that took Daniela to the front page of several Brazilian newspapers.
The race for the Wildcard, and automatic qualification for the Top 10, was fierce and South Brazilian TV had a camera crew at Daniela’s family home in Brazil on the final night, as well as a live link with Daniela in Galway.
“Congrats to everyone else on a huuuuge effort, can’t wait to meet the other 9 lucky couples!” said exhausted Daniela on the Ultimate Job Facebook fan page, hoping to finally get a good night’s sleep after a grueling week of interviews.
“We Brazilians are passionate supporters! (of the Ultimate Job)I also have a big family and group of contacts over there and it was a frenzy for the last week… and don’t forget about the South Africans they were there all the way too,” she added.
