Meadows and Byrne lifestyle store and Blarney Woollen Mills restaurant deal for Tom Doyle Supplies

Flooring projects in Clonakilty and Blarney worth €135,000

Wexford based flooring specialist Tom Doyle Supplies has been selected by retail and hospitality group Blarney Woollen Mills to supply flooring materials for three projects in the Cork area.

The first project is the recently completed renovation of the Mill Room restaurant at Blarneys flagship store in Co Cork. “The Mill Room is one of the largest restaurants in the country and has been designed in such a way, to service our growing domestic trade and also appeal to the important tourist business,” explains Kevin Harrington, company director at Blarney Woollen Mills. “The result after the renovations is very impressive.”

The second project, currently underway, is a new 10,000 sq ft store in Clonakilty, West Cork, due for opening in August. The building will include a Blarney Woollen Mills shop, as well as a Meadows and Byrne Homestore. The Clonakilty store is formerly a Super Valu site that is being transformed into a lifestyle store, which will be the first in the region.

Tom Doyle will also be involved in the remodelling of Blarney’s flagship store in County Cork which is currently taking place. “Our unique offering at Blarney has been renovated significantly this year and we are sure that both it and Clonakilty will be a great success,” says Harrington.

Meadows and Byrne and Blarney Woollen Mills have worked with Tom Doyle Supplies in several projects over the last 7 years. “I have been in the projects business for 17 years and always tried to source the best in class suppliers, that’s how I found Tom Doyle Supplies and we have been working with them ever since,” he adds.

“The look and feel of the flooring options, the design and the service are extremely important in our business. Tom Doyle Supplies has a very efficient process, where tiles are delivered by courier and we get a test period to pick the right material for the project. I have always found they have an impressive selection, of exceptional quality and the service is excellent.”

Meadows and Byrne and Blarney Woollen Mills has 13 stores nationwide and continues to increase market share domestically. The company maintains its strong presence in the tourist market but laterally has become well known for its modern, casual ladies and gents clothing, vintage, gift and Gardenarium ranges. The group is a wholly owned Irish company and other businesses include Farrell and Brown, Blarney Woollen Mills Hotel, Bunratty Castle Hotel and Fisherman out of Ireland.
