Olive Picking and Problem Solving

Mountain ViewThe Biz Clinic, an Irish company focusing on SMEs mentoring, advice and training, is organising an unusual workshop for business managers, where they will learn how to optimise the fruit of their labour: Olive Picking and Problem Solving in Southern Spain.

Professional business and life coach, Moira O Reilly, will run the week-long workshop at Aspirations Cave House Retreat and Olive Grove at Ramanete, in Murcia, from the 7th to 14th November 2009.

Quite simply to retreat to this idyllic, tranquil location on the Costa Calida for a training workshop with a difference. The Biz Clinic is conducting a series of four afternoon workshops where Moira will explore problem solving skills and compare and contrast them to the skills required for olive picking – which attendees will do on the morning of each workshop in a 20,000 square metre olive grove.

Coupled with this, the attendees will also attend an afternoon Spanish Cookery Demonstration, receive a FREE Therapeutic Treatment of choice and will receive a small bottle of Olive Oil, made from the olives picked during their time there.

Learning with a difference – stretch your body with the gentle exercise of olive picking; stretch your mind with the afternoon problem-solving workshops and stretch your spirit with an alternative treatment and cookery demonstration plus relaxation each evening with panoramic views of the mountains and coastline.

Unique Relaxing Accommodation

The workshop accommodation is in the unique Cave Houses which are dry and warm with a constant all year round temperature of 18 degrees. Far from being claustrophobic the cave houses are spacious and open giving a feeling of security and inner calm leaving you totally relaxed and energised.

The week-long programme:

Getting Started!
Timing is Everything – timing and planning are crucial. First impressions don’t always count.
Being Prepared – there are the right tools for picking olives, do you have and/or use the right tools for solving problems?
Procrastination – learn what moves you towards success and remove procrastination from your life.
Personal Responsibility – the essential step to leaving problems behind.

What the Olive Trees Can Tell Us!
Coping with Perfectionism – how perfectionism can be our biggest stumbling block.
Doing the Donkey Work – like olive picking, problem solving isn’t all glamour or drama, but that doesn’t mean we give up.
Ready, Steady … Go!
Carry On, regardless – giving up and downing tools is a luxury few of us have.
The Importance of Pruning – doing what needs to be done now for success in the future.

Getting the job done!
Take a Birds Eye View – step back to successfully move forward.
For Yourself, Not By Yourself – being open to good advice, help and support.
When Problems Aren’t that Big – how our imaginations can play tricks with us.
Feedback – not always liked but it is incredibly useful, whether in the olive grove or the workplace.
One Tree at a Time.

Benefits of the Fruits of Your Labour!
Pacing – what happens when we don’t pace ourselves – who suffers?
How to Measure Success – don’t put all your olives in one basket.
Acknowledge and Celebrate.
Success isn’t all ‘Premier Cru’ – the best oil comes from the first press, but that doesn’t mean it is the only oil gathered!
Once you learn good skills, using them repeatedly brings greater success.
When all the Oil is gone – do you sit and cry because the oil is finished, or do you go get some more?
