Amanda Brunker with the Top 10 Ultimate Job in Ireland couples and Des McGahan, from Ballinacurra House
Candidates from Australia, US, Canada, South Africa, Brazil, UK, Galway, Wexford, Sligo, Dublin and Cork
The Ultimate Job in Ireland Top 10 candidate couples have arrived in Ballinacurra House ahead of the challenge weekend and the International finale on Sunday Night.
Organised by Irish Wedding and Honeymoon destination company Runawaybrideandgroom.com, the Ultimate Job in Ireland – and probably the world! attracted 30,000 applications from over 90 countries and global media attention.
At a champagne reception in Ballinacurra House the Top 10 couples met with the Runaway Bride and Groom judges and were introduced to their first challenge: sipping champagne on a hammock without spilling a drop. TV personality and writer Amanda Brunker and TV chef Martin Shanahan from RTE’s ‘Martin’s mad about fish’ also attended the event to welcome the candidates, as well as members of the press and sponsors.
On a ‘first come, first served’ gourmet challenge, the Top 10 couples had to follow clues to find secret dinner reservations for eight couples in four Kinsale restaurants: Crackpots Restaurant, Fishy Fishy Café, Jola’s Restaurant and Max’s Restaurant. The last two couples left with no table received a voucher for Dino’s fish and chips shop. The couple’s restaurant reviews from the gourmet challenge are available on www.runawaybrideandgroom.com
The couples will enjoy the full Kinsale dining and leisure experience, with challenges and tasks combined with sightseeing and fun time at some of Kinsale’s top class clubs and venues, such as Blue Haven, Hamlets Bar, Trident Hotel and White Lady Nightclub.
The final interviews will take place on Sunday in the stunning surroundings of the Carlton Hotel after a little pampering to calm the nerves at the C Spa. The chosen couple will be finally revealed on Sunday evening at a Gala Dinner at Ballinacurra House, with special guests and top entertainment.
The successful applicant and their partner will immediately start preparing for their first trip after the announcement and will fly out on 21st May to Zanzibar, Mauritius and private escorted safari in Kenya – a week in each destination – just for starters.
