Zutec secures three new major contracts in Middle East and Australia worth over Euro 2m

Irish Software Company bucks trend and fights off stiff international competition

Brian McGuire founder of ZutecZutec, a web based solutions company for building and asset management industries, has landed international contracts worth over Euro 2 million in Australia and the Middle East over the past three months.

In Qatar, Zutec has secured the contract for the new Doha International airport. The value of this contract is for Euro 1.3 million and is issued by a consortium called Sky Oryx, made up of Japan’s Taisei Corporation and Turkey’s TAV, which is managing the Euro 807 million passenger terminal.

In Australia, Zutec has won a contract with Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth, worth Euro 515k (700k Australian dollars) and a Euro 295k (400k AUD) contract, as part of the multi-million development of Victoria’s new Royal Children’s Hospital, currently under construction in Melbourne. Zutec also recently completed a Euro 220k (300k AUD) project at Melbourne Convention Centre.

Brian McGuire, managing director and founder of Zutec, says “We are in business for ten years. Our product has grown organically and steadily through focused development, careful management and strong leadership.

“The company is currently concluding a BES fundraising round of Euro 500,000 which it expects to have concluded by early December. The monies raised will primarily be used for research and development in Ireland and developing new overseas markets. I’m pleased to add that our previous BES fund of Euro 1 million has already been paid back in full.”

Sinead Branagh, director with Zutec, spends a considerable amount of her time overseas managing installations at the customers’ facilities. The investment in R&D is critical to maintaining the high service levels and for customer satisfaction, she says “Our model has been to re invest back into our product all the time. Our previous BES investment allowed us to fast-track extra features and attributes that were needed in our product and ensuring we were able to match and better any competitors.

“This has paid off handsomely and we have been successful in some of the largest construction projects in the world. For example, in 2006 we were successful in winning a high profile contract to provide an online solution for entire handover at the New Wembley Stadium. The contract, worth Euro 1 million, was the result of a very challenging tender process. Another landmark development at Westfield London saw in excess of 900 users uploading data, with tens of thousands of drawings, hundreds of thousands of assets and essential information to efficiently and effectively run the facility.”

Zutec has managed projects across the world, notably in the UK, Middle East, South East Asia, United States and Australia. It has also expanded its workforce to more than twenty staff, with employees permanently based in Ireland, UK, Middle East and Australia.
